Caring for infants, babies and toddlers can be a very lonely space for a new mom. You may have gone from a work zone with adults to a non verbal slobber zone. No matter how much you love that new baby, you need some companionship, adult conversation, and a few compassionate buddies to get you through the early years of playgroups, stroller rides, and baby classes.
How to be picky in picking your tribe
It’s best to pick your Charleston mom group tribe based on convenience, so location matters. Secondly, find something you enjoy such as fitness class or moms who dine out. Thanks to the internet, there are plenty of online groups alone, but we recommend getting some real face time in person and in the fresh air. Meet for a stroll, playground time, or coffee date with baby in tow. Another tip is to pick a group or create your own group of moms with similar age children so you can experience similar milestones and activities for the same developmental ages.
